Problem-Solvers headed to Kenya!

At the end of October in 2013 three groups of inspiring problem solvers will be convening in Nairobi for a multi-day conference to exchange practical experience in various fields of social entrepreneurship and inclusive business in Africa.

Who will be in Nairobi?

  1. Fifteen of the 20 members of the Community Impact Development Group ( CIDG ) - Ashoka Fellows from around the world – who are each working to improve their communities using innovative new tools and inclusive business models. They work in the areas of water, energy, sanitation, and health; each innovator brings a new, systems-changing solution to the table. The CIDG is a joint initiative of the Siemens Stiftung and Ashoka.
  2. The 23 finalists of the Siemens Stiftung Empowering People Award who have developed simple but intelligent technology solutions that improve the lives of people in developing countries. At the award ceremony in Nairobi , the international jury will announce the top three entrants. Through 21st October, anyone who is interested can participate in online voting in the Audience Award category.
  3. The finalists of the G20 Challenge on Inclusive Business Innovation, for-profit entrepreneurs who create inclusive business models with social value at the base of the economic pyramid.
